Donate: K-1st grade (ages 5-7), new or gently-used children’s books at one of our local partners.
My 92.9 has teamed up with Literacy Connects to celebrate Love of Reading Month with a children’s book drive. Donations of high-quality, new or gently-used books will go directly to children in need through Literacy Connects programming.
Literacy Connects gives over 1,000 books per week to children who need them most.
The number of books in a home is directly related to the number of years a child stays in school. “Having as few as 20 books in the home still has a significant impact on propelling a child to a higher level of education, and the more books you add, the greater the benefit” (Wharton 2010).
Donations can be dropped off at the Literacy Connects office, Antigone Books, Kid’s Center, Mostly Books, and the YWCA.
