On February 16, a group of Student Ambassadors from Literacy Volunteers of Tucson and Pima College Adult Education visited the Arizona State Legislature. They also attended the 2012 Arizona Adult Literacy Week Awards Celebration at Carnegie Center.
These Student Ambassadors spoke on behalf of the over one million adults in Arizona who need adult education programming.
Arizona Adult Literacy Week is an annual, statewide event celebrating adult literacy and lifelong learning in Arizona communities.
The purpose of Adult Literacy Week is to increase awareness of the importance of adult literacy and it’s bottom-line impact on Arizona’s quality of life and economic recovery through creating an educated citizenry.
