Reading Seed Children’s Literacy Program chosen as 2011 Wings Like Eagles Foundation award recipient!

Reading Seed Children’s Literacy Program is thrilled to have been selected as a 2011 Wings Like Eagles Foundation award recipient.  In December 2011, the Wings Like Eagles Foundation awarded a total of $60,000 to five charitable organizations in our community, including $10,000 to Reading Seed.

Since 2003, The Wings Like Eagles Foundation has awarded over $1.4 million to Arizona nonprofits. The Foundation was created in memory of the late William M. Clements, founder of Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc.

“I’m proud that in these difficult economic times, The Wings Like Eagles Foundation continues to make a significant contribution to the community. Our 2011 recipients are shining examples of our mission and provide indispensible assistance to so many,” said Christopher Clements, President, The Wings Like Eagles Foundation.

The Wings Like Eagles Foundation 2011 award recipients are:

  • $10,000 to Christian Family Care for the ConnectOne, Southern Arizona Project.
  • $10,000 to Mobile Meals of Tucson, Inc. to subsidize the direct cost of meals and delivery.
  • $10,000 to Reading Seed to support 500 students with Reading Seed coaching.
  • $10,000 to The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley to support the AfterSchool KidsLit program.
  • $20,000 to Youth On Their Own to support the monthly stipend program.
