The Tucson Festival of Books is coming up March 15-16!
This two-day festival attracts more than 120,000 book lovers to the University of Arizona Mall and nearby venues for exhibits, hands-on literacy activities and presentations by your favorite authors. The event is free for the whole family.
Financial support from the festival makes much of Literacy Connects’ programming possible. In five years of working together:
- 7,500 children learned to love reading with the support of a Reading Seed coach.
- 4,500 adults learned the literacy skills they need to support themselves and their families
- 13,000 original stories were written by elementary students.
- 165,000 books were given to children in need.
Stop by Literacy Connects’ booth #257 during the festival, and don’t miss the Paper Bag Books activity from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Blue Activity Tent. Join our Reading Seed staff and volunteers for all-ages fun making beautiful journals, scrapbooks or story books using markers, stickers, glitter and glue!
