More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the Rotary Club of Tucson’s 8th Annual Tucson Classics Car Show on Saturday, October 18.
The event, which will feature more than 400 classic cars, vendor booths, a food court and all-day entertainment, will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the soccer fields at The Gregory School, 3231 N. Craycroft Road.
More than $100,000 in anticipated proceeds will benefit Literacy Connects’ Reading Seed program, as well as other local Rotary Club of Tucson Foundation charities.
“I am both impressed and grateful for the Rotary Club of Tucson’s vision and long-term focus on improving children’s literacy,” said Betty Stauffer, Executive Director of Literacy Connects. “In raising funds for this work, they have had a major impact on thousands of struggling elementary school readers for over a decade. Without the Rotary Club of Tucson and the annual Tucson Classic Car Show, Literacy Connects’ Reading Seed program would still just be a good idea on a shelf.”
Admission is $5 for adults, and each admission includes a raffle ticket for a chance to win a 50th Anniversary Edition 2003 Corvette Convertible, or $15,000 in cash, or four other prizes. Children under 18 are admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets are available online here and from any Rotary Club of Tucson member.
Tickets are also available at the gate for $5 each, with no limit on the number of tickets purchased and entered in the raffle. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
Over the years, the Rotary Club of Tucson has contributed more than $1.2 million to Literacy Connects’ Reading Seed program through the car show and other fundraising activities.
The car show is staged entirely by volunteers.
