The Literacy Connects Coalition recently hosted a reception to share information and dispel myths about Proposition 204 – The Quality Education and Jobs Initiative. It is imperative that our supporters spread the word and encourage everyone they know to vote YES on this initiative on November 6th!
Coalition representatives from the Pima County Public Library, Sunnyside Literacy Coalition, Altrusa, Make Way for Books, Sunnyside School District, Amphi School District, First Things First, Pima College Adult Education, Arts Integration Solutions, UA Poetry Center, and many other wonderful community organizations, schools and businesses joined Literacy Connects staff, students and board members for this event!
Passing Prop. 204 will provide students in Arizona with a permanent, stable source of education funding that the Legislature cannot cut.
Key speakers at the event included Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild, First Things First Early Childhood Development board member Steve Lynn, Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias, and Arizona Education Network representatives Ann-Eve Pederson and Jen Darland.
